Finding Foxes: A Short Film
Lisa Nackan (DTATI, RP)
Thornhill, ON
Lisa has always been driven by a burning desire to help others and to advocate for meaningful change in the world. Her work as an art therapist provides the perfect medium for this — combining three of her greatest passions: the creative process, psychology and social activism. When she is not working, she spends time in nature, taking photographs, painting and enjoying her family. She is currently writing a memoir.
The forest became my haven during the pandemic. The trees drew me in, away from the chaos of a very sick world. I would walk to that path up to four times a day while we were in lockdown. I became a naturalist, photographer, and sadly an advocate for these magnificent animals after a group of photographers invaded the forest. The summer of the pandemic was one of life and death, and the contradiction between the confinements of lockdown we were experiencing, and the magic and freedom I discovered in the midst of trees, silent witness to the marvellous hidden lives of the foxes in my neighbourhood.
Music by Epidemic Sound.
